Our Aim

Care Foundation aims to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged individuals and communities, particularly those from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds, by reducing social isolation, relieving poverty, advancing education, and promoting health and wellbeing.
The charity works to support children, young people, adults and older people who face barriers to accessing services, opportunities and information. Through community based programmes, education and skills development, social support, mental health and wellbeing activities and counselling, Care Foundation provides services that help people build confidence, resilience and independence.

Our Objective

Care Foundation.s goal is to make communities stronger by helping vulnerable and socially marginalised people of all ages. Our work focuses on:
• Helping young people who are at risk, such as ex-offenders between the ages of 16- 24, to reintegrate into society in a positive way.
• Offering safe, organised activities for children and young people (8–15 years) after school and out of school provision
• Promoting confidence, teamwork, and physical fitness through grassroots sports, such as our Under 11s Football Club.
• Increasing youth educational attainment by providing primary and secondary school students with tuition support.
FOR OLDER PEOPLE:
• Reducing isolation and improving wellbeing among older adults (60+) through social clubs and intergenerational activities.
• Visiting local care homes every three months with flowers, chocolates, and hymn-singing sessions to promote kindness and community.
• By making quarterly trips to nearby assisted living facilities, delivering flowers and chocolates, and leading hymn-singing sessions, we may promote compassion and community cohesion

Outcome

In the last couple of years we have been able to achieve the following outcomes
• We have supported over 100 young ex-offenders over 12 months through mentoring, structured group sessions, and sports engagement. Participants received assistance with interview preparation, CV writing, and referrals to training providers. While some went on to further education and entry-level jobs, others volunteered in our youth programs and they have become great mentors sharing their experiences of addiction, crime, gangster to prevent other young people who may be at risk.
• Tea mornings, light exercise, ethnic celebrations, guest speakers, and health and wellness information sessions are all part of our weekly over 60s social club. Over 500 Participants say they feel more a part of their community and less isolated.
• Every three months, our volunteers go to local nursing homes with flowers and chocolate. They spend time singing hymns and talking to the residents. Staff at various care homes in Bexley say that over 1000 residents are happier and more involved after visits.
• Through our weekly “LIVE YOUR LIFE YOUTH CLUB FOR AGES 13-24” we have been able to reduce crime, vandalism, gang culture and anti -social behaviour in the borough of Bexley, every week over 50 young people would rather come to the club every Friday to engage in positive activities and peer support they get at the club with free snacks and drinks. Six months into the project we have improved the life of over 300 young people.
All our program, in addition to the 560 direct participants, the project indirectly benefitted approximately 1000–1700 people, including family members, peers, and wider community members in Bexley over four years through raised awareness, reduced stigma, and strengthened local support networks.

"Sound of One" Program

In September 2025, Carefoundation was nominated to organise a one-day Mayor.sevent in Erith "Sound of One"was a forum where facilitators with “Lived experience” of what issues young people are experiencing were invited to discuss their genuine, unvarnished experiences with addiction, mental health, unemployment, coping with sickle cell, career and stagnancy.
The event's goals are to dispel stigma, encourage open communication, and strengthen community ties through poetry, spoken word, music, visual art, career talk ad employability support and storytelling. Over 100 young people, age 10-25 years and 50 adults over 30s attended and all participants reported that their lives were transformed and confidence improved.
